Willow Nativity

There are two nativity sets within the Willow Tree Figurines range, namely the traditional Willow Nativity and the Christmas Story.

The Traditional Willow Nativity

A wonderful, soul-stirring gift set, consisting of the following Willow Tree Figures:

Mary and the Christ Child, and Joseph, the sheep and donkey, the three Wise Men ("they followed a star and found the Light of the World"), the shepherds and stable animals ("surrounding new life with love and warmth") in the Crèche (this Willow Tree wooden crèche providing a beautiful backdrop for your Willow Tree Nativity set, the affixed star reminding admirers of the awe and wonder of Christmas).

The most recent addition to this is the 2-piece set, the Ox and Goat ("offering warmth and protection").

The Christmas Story

Behold the awe and wonder of the Christmas Story each year with this beautiful 6-piece Willow Nativity Set.

The Christmas Story set is much larger in size that the traditional Nativity set, and is made up of the two richly painted figures of Mary, holding Jesus, and Joseph ("Her name is Mary; His name is Joseph; The baby, Jesus"), shepherd, donkey and two sheep, all majestically displayed on the Sanctuary.

The Donkey and two sheep (gentle Animals of the Stable) were created after the others to "add a richness and surround to the quiet tenderness portrayed in the Christmas Story composition". They fit on the base of the Sanctuary, nestling close to provide warmth, while protectively watching over Mary, Joseph and their child, Jesus.

"The scale of the pieces gives each animal a stately presence of watchful waiting. We think they are a beautiful compliment to The Christmas Story and Sanctuary, and we hope you will to".

This beautiful nativity set leaves faces uncarved and unpainted to leave room for imagination. The shape of each piece is so graceful and peaceful, it captures the spirit of the Holy Family at the moment of the first Christmas perfectly.

(Note: the animals and figurines created for the traditional Nativity are not the same proportion as The Christmas Story).

These handsome Willow Tree Ornaments are crafted out of resin cast from original carvings by Kansas artist Susan Lordi, done in such a way as to look hand-carved.
